M-Performance Exhaust with Active Auto mid-pipe

M-Performance Exhaust with Active Auto mid-pipe:
I purchased the Mid-Pipe from Mike at Extreme Power House, Had the best price and fast delivery, great customer service.
Active auto answered any questions I had providing great customer service while building quality products.

The car sounds great. The AA Mid-Pipe gives a nice base eliminating some of the rasp but you still remain the tone from the MPE which i love.

Video: Video taken from my phone so quality is not the greatest.

thought about doing this but don't want to cut the original MPE pipes.

is it that much louder with the deletion of the h-pipe + secondary cats? post vids.

Dang taking the risk of cutting up the MPE. Want to sell the MPE "mid" pipe?

I'm curious how this would compare to Fabspeed's Mid-Pipes for the MPE

Such a shame that at that price level MPE needs further "mods" to sound right

I was going to do this but it was a bit raspy for me. The Fabspeed still sounded great but wasn't for me and I wanted a bit more base as the M- performance is already a little raspy.

Hey, can you elaborate or describe the “cutting” of the MPE? I currently have AA with stock ZCP and looking to add MPE. I too was originally going to go Fabspeed and MPE, but thought it would be a waste of money since I already have AA and after reading your comments I’m definitely not doing that because I don’t want rasp. However, the idea of cutting up such an expensive part doesn’t sound appealing either.

You have to cut the mid section of the MPE in order for it to work with AA mid as you can see it in the first picture under the video where the clamps are. The value of MPE is the titanium muffler which is unharmed. Note the mid section of mpe is not titanium and is ss. Even though cutting is required I highly recommend going with AA. If you ever sell it you shouldn’t have a problem since it’s a desired set up and ready to go.

Plus you can also re-clamp the MPE mid-pipe to the muffler for reselling, just like you would clamp the stock exhaust back to the factory mid-pipe if you were going back to stock.

On the video, I love how the camera man whispers, "Jesus Christ" after the M3 farted at the end. lol...

Thanks for the input guys; great info! For more reasons than one, it sounds like this setup is the way to go. I don’t want to buy another aftermarket mid since I already have the AA and it also appears to be the better combo compared to other pairings.

Is it safe to say that the cutting involved is basically cutting the MPE mid pipe from the rear section (muffler)? Am I interpreting it Correctly? If I’m not mistaken, that’s what had to be done with the stock system.

The post above from unleashed shows exactly where the cut is needed. But yes technically you are cutting mpe mid section and retaining the muffler section of the MPE.
Hope that helps!

Make a titanium weld connection to a titanium piece of pipe and then make your connection to AA pipe

The Fabspeed and MPE produces a deeper louder tone without rasp.
