Congrats, and thanks for sharing your experience with th group. Keep checking these forums (and the ED forum on bimmerfest), you can relive vicariously through other people's deliveries - can make the redelivery time pass easier.

I will be dropping off in Nice on July 3rd, and was wondering if you recall where that touch less high pressure car wash was located. It's the only type of car wash I'd use...

A few of you folks are starting to worry the bejeezus out of me

I leave for my ED in 4 days, and last night I had a dream that I curbed the rim and "bumped" a wall in an underground parking garage.....it was sort of a lucid dream, so I was legitimately freaked out...

I woke up realizing it wasn't real and all was good again......but....as much as I preach that i'm all relaxed and zen like, I think it's starting to get to me as the trip gets that much closer. I'm just starting to read a couple posts here and there of people having minor damage on their ED's.....it's making me (more) neurotic

Incidentally, IRNM4N what wax did you use for your quick coating while in the Welt parking garage? Did you do the whole car?

No worries. I curbed my rim (my fault) during the 2009 ED and just marked it on the sheet upon drop off. BMW replaced the rim at VDC, so basically when you get your car back in the States it will be perfect.

Remember they do offer a zero deductible full coverage insurance. Don't let this stress you out...

Yep, I know....the VDC is great, and the insurance is the bees knees.....

It's just the thought of the scraaaaaaape or crunch while over there. I know everything will be right upon re-delivery, it's just the ocd in me. LOL.

I'll be fine, just will be crazy careful in those garages

Well I was careful in the garages, but scraped it when parallel parking next to a granite curb somewhere in Germany... I bet your worries will fly out the window the first time you give it the full beans on the Autobahn.

Mine did.

Nice read and sounds like you had a fantastic trip.

I am headed over in July and will also be staying at Villa Floria in Lake Como.

How did you like it? Anything to look out for? You can PM me if you don't want to post the response.

European parking garages are TIGHT!!! Plenty of marks on the walls/curbs... Take it slow and you'll be fine!

I am very worry about the rims because on the letter from BMW when you drop off your car, it stated that "normal wear and tear, such as scratches on wheels, paint chipped on bumper, and interior scratches will not be fix".....

so i don't know if they will fix them for me....

Yes. The M logo lights up when you lock/unlock the car.

It is located in the airport when heading to terminal two (where TT Transport is). There is a gas station there with two bays. You go inside and ask for X amount of credits at 2 euro each. I did 3 I think and had plenty of time.

I used 3M Performance Finish. Yes. Did a quick full coat simple spread on and buff off. Worked very well.
